Here's the deal. In 1964, the United States Geological Survey created a speculative, and much maligned project to determine the geographic "Center" of locations throughout the Unites States. Details on the project can be found
HERE
"There is no generally accepted definition of geographic center, and no completely satisfactory method for determining it. Because of this, there may be as many geographic centers of a State or country as there are definitions of the term. The geographic center of an area may be defined as the center of gravity of the surface, or that point on which the surface of the area would balance if it were a plane of uniform thickness. "
Given there is no correct answer to center, in the opinion of USGS, Centers, by Bubbler GPS has chosen locations based off of a variety of publicly available resources. Some of these locations have associated landmarks which may, or may not be at the locations provided by this project.
